We are seeking district leaders (school districts with enrolment of 10,000 +) to make a very brief presentation – power point slides and verbal explanation. Panelists with an interest in this topic will respond with questions, suggestions and ideas.
Breaking Down the Language Barrier:
Use of technology including a TV station, DVD welcome to parents - and other ideas for breaking down the language barrier.

Opening School Doors for the Parents of At-Risk Students:
How a large South Carolina School District is reaching out to the parents of ESOL students in order to involve them in their childrens' school experience. Strategies including the use of live interpreters, techonolgy based translations and some meaningful tips on how to communicate with the Homeless population.

Parent Program Managers and Parent Organizers:
A district program that is a part of the Mobile County Public School System’s Office of Home-School-Community Involvement that utilizes personnel to “reach the hard to reach parents” and increase parental involvement in schools pre-k – 12th grade with an emphasis on school improvement schools.
